Description

This is a picture for the Drawing Day.

This is another one of the dragon races in my story idea, an earth dragon. I'm not sure if this will be one of the charactes in his true dragon form or just some random dragon.
They are very similar to Air dragons but instead of feathers they have fur on their heads, stomachs, and fur running along their back and on their tails. They have two long sensitive whiskers and two antlers on their brow, the males antlers are bigger and black while the females are smaller and often a much darker version of their scale colour. They prefer living in woods with plenty of water nearby, the females often lay their eggs in the water or close by. Their colours come in many shades and reflect the colours of nature, often blues, greens, and browns. Very old dragons slowly turn a pearly white with small tones of pink, blue or green The fur is always in the same colour as the scales but with some differences in hue and sometimes white is also apparent. They have a peace treaty with the forest elves but lives in the deepest part of Xylia, Witold, and mostly keeps to themselves. They are on average 14-15 feet high when standing outstretched and 40-50 feet long.
In the pic an earth dragon is using its magic to give new life to a barren land scorched by fire. The flower, which is supposed to be a star of bethlehem, is symbolising hope, (someone right me if I'm wrong).

I used I don't know how many reference pics, my dinosaur book did help alot, and half way through I decided to slop the breast plates and draw fur on it's stomach instead. I worked on and off all week with this and I've been close to give up many times but with a bit help in colour choices and such from my mom I managed to get it done in time for the Drawing Day.

First off I love the design especially the face and the way you put the yin yang symbol between the horns, very cool. Looking overall at it the first thing i notice is it is very flat on the back half. There is a lot of shading in the front half of the dragon but not much on the rest of it. I would add shading to the underside of him/ her on where the legs are and a little more on the neck where the head attaches. And more shading along the base of the mane running down his spine would be good to. Overall though good job I like it.
